Most of you know that carpe diem is Latin for “seize the day.” I try to take this very seriously in everything I do, unfortunately for some I just don’t think it hits home. The couple of weeks ago I emailed an individual about covering their site on this blog, gratis. I thought the product was interesting, and I wanted to share it with the readers here. I suggested this person write a paragraph or two of content figuring they would talk about the site, themselves etc. That sounds like a pretty good deal, right? This is how the emails went.

If you would like to write a paragraph or two of unique content, I would like to feature your product on my blog.

Thanks,

I thought it was a good deal, free coverage from an up-and-coming blog, how can you beat that? Apparently they thought it was a good deal as well. This is the email I immediately got back.

I would definitely like to take you up on that offer. I’ll put together something tonight and email it to you. Thanks!

Now, I’m thinking his writeup should be hitting my inbox anytime now. The real kicker is it’s two weeks later and the email still hasn’t hit my inbox, and it never will. Blogging Tip: If someone offers to cover your product for free and asks only for a small writeup in exchange you should take them up on it. After all, coverage like that would cost you money anywhere else.
