Why do you blog? If I’ve figured out one thing from starting a blog it’s that you have to invest a lot of time into blogging, although the same goes with any other project you take on. Blogging to make money seems like the long way to go about things.

If a person really wants to make money online you should choose a site format that’s user generated. Take a look at user generated sites like Digg. Why spend all your time updating content just to get found when you can have the community do it for you. If you’re really passionate about a topic, user generated is the way to go.

Digg has 1,960,000 indexed pages on Google. Now that’s reach.

Why did I start a blog? It’s surely not all about the money. Blogging for money may be the first mistake that noobie bloggers make. They think that they can start up a blog, load it with ads and start pulling a profit. Let me tell you something, you can’t. Blogging can be a great way to get your name out there, but for a noobie wanting to make money online there are other and better ways.
